10 years of obsession turned into 1 book

Starting in 2013, Nick Smoot embarked on a mission to comprehend the factors behind social and economic destabilization in the United States and around the world. His efforts led to the formation of a team that has led projects in 12 states, collaborated with 9 universities, contributed to federal workforce legislation, created transformative programs and tools, and now has authored an innovative book that integrates the lessons learned into a new approach to “humaning” that merges the social sciences and economics into a comprehensive city-wide social and economic infrastructure.

Nick believes that this approach has the power to harmonize the economic and strategic goals of companies and cities with the profound human cravings that currently going unmet in cities around the world. This book represents an effort to illuminate a 'BETTER' way for people to plan and live their lives, for companies to design impactful HR programs, for real estate developers to rethink amenities, and for governments to approach economic development by looking at their town from the bottom up rather than the top down.

Long story short, Nick and the team are on a mission to unlock human flourishing, and this book, 'Better,' is an effort to take a big step in that direction.
